Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains what happens to the information you enter on HomeCalc USA and what data is collected when you visit.

Calculator inputs

Calculators compute results in your browser. The exact figures you type are not sent to our servers or stored. We do send anonymous usage events to Google Analytics, such as the calculator name, which field changed and a rounded value range (for example “100-200”), plus clicks on reset, print, copy, download and share.

The Project Advisor (“Ask AI”) is different: the project description you type is sent to our server and to an AI model provider to generate a recommendation. Do not include personal information in it.

Analytics, advertising and cookies

  • Google Analytics 4. Loaded on every page. It sets cookies and collects page views, device and approximate location data. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
  • Ahrefs Web Analytics. Loaded on every page to measure aggregate traffic.
  • Google AdSense. The site declares an AdSense publisher account. If ads are shown, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. You can manage this at Google Ad Settings.

Local storage

Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. If you sign in (only needed for internal tools), a sign-in session is also stored locally.

Information we collect

  • Hosting logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL and time.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and address as long as needed to respond.

We do not sell personal information.

Third-party links

Pages may link to external resources such as suppliers, government tax offices or lenders. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

The site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights and contact

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we hold very little, this will usually only concern email correspondence. Contact us via the contact page with any request or question.

Changes

When this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
